Mum Must Eat Well to Help Baby

A really cool study looking at diet and foods to prevent food allergy in children.

Hi, so I have a bit of research here …. I’m sure it’s going to be released fully, and it’s about helping or preventing food allergy in children.

It looks at nutrition.

How to help them nutritionally or how to prevent nutritionally, so even better.

And I’ll just read from the summary: early introduction of food.

So, this is quite a… like a controversial one… do you avoid the foods, do you give allergy-type foods?

This one says there’s an emphasis on dietary diversity.

So, eating a range of foods – fruits, veg, fish, and sources of vitamin D.

And it says to eat those in pregnancy, and lactation, and early life for the infants.

So, it’s a great bit of research because lots of mums are, maybe, breastfeeding and struggling, and they’ve even mentioned to eat good vitamin D source foods.

And it comes up time and time again to get these foods in.

And vitamin D is a really pretty wonderful vitamin that is deficient in a lot of people.

Now, remember getting the sun helps, and if you look at other advice in the e-course, I mention about the sun for reasons other than vitamin D, creating a good rhythm, a good night and day rhythm, for you and for your baby to help them.

Vitamin D plays a role in huge amounts of things, even gut health, and remember we look at the gut health a lot for the baby.

So, paying attention to that, I think it’s really interesting that if you’re watching this and you have a baby then, okay we’ve maybe missed out on the pregnancy part, but next time around pay attention to that during the pregnancy to eat well.

If you’re breastfeeding eat well, which is, and I go on it about all the time, and this is eating well because it’s fruit and veg and fish and vitamin D.

It’s a kind of a Mediterranean-type style diet.

So, it’s again backing me up on this advice for a mum to look after herself, which then looks after her baby.
============================

If your baby keeps crying and is upset and you suspect it has colic or is showing colicky symptoms, I invite you to complete the following survey that I use to help understand WHY.

“….Let’s work out why your baby is upset. Then I can explain to you why and how to help them. The answers I have for you can help your baby now, but perhaps more importantly into the future too.

Each one of my questions is carefully selected to give me insight into you and your baby and each one I have answered…… in my book Calming Colic.

These are the questions I ask on a daily basis when mums and dads bring their baby to see me in my clinic…..”
